This week we talk a look at a few very interesting pieces including the new Royal Oak Tourbillon from Audemars Piguet Openworked, the White Concept GMT, and a very special piece from Christophe Claret.

Audemars Piguet Openworked

This particular watch is not any different from other AP tourbillon except for the materials and the skeleton framework that lets you see through to the back.

This piece is a boutique exclusive edition and made in titanium with a satin brush finish, making the side of the bezel shinny and the rest of the watch this nice matte look.

There has been a lot of buzz about these boutique exclusive pieces because you can only get them at an Audemars Piguet boutique, where you will pay full retail.

Retail price on this watch is $236,320.

On the secondary market, you are not getting much of a discount and would be lucky to find this watch around $200,000.

Is this watch worth the high price tag? Absolutely, this watch is absolutely stunning.

White Concept GMT Tourbillon

The concept behind this concept watch (no pun intended) is the selection lever at the bottom of the watch which decides what you are going to do with the watch.

There is a selection to wind the watch and a selection to change the hours.

Some of their previous concept watches had a dynamic graph that showed the tension of the spring.

For this watch, you are looking at a retail price of $214,000.

In today’s market, you can get this watch for around $165,000.

However, this watch notoriously fluctuates in price going from as low as $130,000 to over $185,000.

One of the reasons for this is the very large size of this watch.

While the millimeter size based off the bezel is 46mm, if you look at the watch from strap to strap, this is a massive 50mm. So, not everyone can wear this watch.

You need a very large wrist to wear a watch this size.

Christophe Claret Blackjack Watch

The watchmaker Christophe Claret is a genius and has created some of the most amazing watches over the years.

He came up with the idea that you can play blackjack on your watch and this is the outcome.

The functionality of this watch is truly amazing. There is a gong inside that chimes whenever you or the dealer “hits”, similar to how an hour striker chimes the hours, quarter hours or minutes.

On the side of the watch, there is also a window with two very small dice inside.

But wait, there is more to this portable casino…

Flip the watch over and you have a miniature roulette table.

The roulette wheel works off the motor that winds the watch so when you shake the watch, the wheel spins.

There is even an emerald on the outside of the roulette numbers.

This emerald is customizable and you can have it set by whatever favorite number is yours.

Retail on this watch is $300,000 and the main reason for this higher price tag is the Paquette bezel which is very expensive.

The other blackjack watches without this bezel start around $200,000.
